Building Permit Issued for Crossroads Project
Construction of the first phase of the Crossroads redevelopment is imminent as a building permit was recently filed with the city for construction of the first of several parking garages. According to the permit, the submerged, 179,000 sq. ft. parking garage will be two levels and serve as the podium for the future Gamescape by Cinemark entertainment center. According to the development agreement, the city will build and operate this and other future parking facilities throughout the development.
Gamescape was first announced this past April and is the first and currently only known tenant for the Crossroads development. According to previous site plans, the entertainment center will be approximately 90,000 sq. ft. The concept mixes a movie theater experience with arcade games, bowling, laser tag and other entertainment options. The only other Gamescape in the country is in El Paso, Tex. – Isaiah Ang
