Progress on Google’s Northwest Omaha Campus
Google continues to build out its 378-acre data center campus in northwest Omaha north of 114th & State Street along the west side of Blair High Road. Google invested $930 million in Nebraska last year. Google has an additional data center campus in Papillion and two campuses in Council Bluffs.
Construction Goes Vertical on NOVA Apartments
Construction just started going vertical at a 40,000 sq. ft. site southeast of 12th & Nicholas Street. That’s where Ronco Construction is building NOVA a 5-story building with street-level retail and 74 apartment units. The building will include 20,000 sq. ft. of street-level retail space for lease. It’s one of several new buildings planned for the Millwork Commons district north of Charles Schwab Field.
Flatland Church Property to Become Multi-Family Project
The Flatland Church property at 17515 Pacific Street will be redeveloped into a multifamily project. The developer has plans to demolish the existing church building, and in its place, build 30 townhouses and 90 apartment units. Townhouse units include 2-car parking garages and will be evenly split between 2- and 3-bedroom units. The apartment building and clubhouse will be built in the middle of the 8.3-acre property and will be served by 66 detached garage stalls and 91 surface parking stalls. Units will range from studios to 2-bedroom units, splits between two, 3-story buildings. – Isaiah Ang
Popeye’s Building Northwest Location
Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen is building a new location at 168th & Birch Street, which is just southeast of 168th & West Maple Road. Perkins-Crister Construction is the general contractor. The Building is framed and partially enclosed. Opening will take place later this year.
Retail Center Coming to 192nd & Q
Construction has started on Woodlands Retail, a two-building retail strip center totaling 19,322 sq. ft. northwest of 192nd & Q Street. Completion is planned for late 2025. Building “A” will total 13,136 sq. ft. Building “B” will be 5,949 sq. ft. No tenants have been announced.

Work Reaches 27th Floor on Mutual of Omaha Tower
The Mutual of Omaha tower is already becoming a prominent part of the downtown skyline. In this photo by Brad Williams (taken from near 32nd & Dodge Street), you can see the central core, or “shear tower,” rising between the First National Center and WoodmenLife Tower. Though it won’t be completed until late 2026, it is already the third tallest building in the city.
Developed by Lanoha Real Estate, the $600 million, 800,000 sq. ft. Mutual of Omaha headquarters will be 44 stories and 677 feet tall. Construction on the central core tower has reached the 27th floor. It will eventually be the tallest building in a region encompassing Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and the Dakotas.

Construction of Creighton University’s New Softball Stadium
Construction has already gone vertical at Creighton University’s future softball stadium on the southeast corner of 20th & Cuming Street in North Downtown. It’s a fast-track project as completion is planned for this summer. A press box for the stadium will be completed by September.
Immediately east of the softball stadium, work is expected to begin soon on a baseball practice field that will be used by Creighton University as well as teams participating in the annual NCAA Men’s College World Series. It is anticipated to be ready before the 2026 College World Series. Just to the west of the softball stadium, construction is underway on Creighton’s new sophomore residence hall.
Construction Progresses on Eppley Terminal Expansion
The Omaha Airport Authority this week shared this aerial photo, showing the many construction projects underway at Eppley Airfield. Between the parking garage and the terminal, you can see the canopy and terminal drive project. Further down, you can see progress on the $950 million terminal expansion and modernization project. When totally complete in a few years, Eppley will have one long concourse, international arrivals gates and a centralized section for TSA screening and retail/restaurant options.
