The Mutual of Omaha tower is already becoming a prominent part of the downtown skyline. In this photo by Brad Williams (taken from near 32nd & Dodge Street), you can see the central core, or “shear tower,” rising between the First National Center and WoodmenLife Tower. Though it won’t be completed until late 2026, it is already the third tallest building in the city.
Developed by Lanoha Real Estate, the $600 million, 800,000 sq. ft. Mutual of Omaha headquarters will be 44 stories and 677 feet tall. Construction on the central core tower has reached the 27th floor. It will eventually be the tallest building in a region encompassing Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and the Dakotas.
