Volunteers Celebrate the Season at Kiewit Luminarium

Visit Omaha volunteer ambassadors gathered December 4 for a festive holiday party at Kiewit Luminarium. Refreshments, awards and entertainment set the tone for an evening of connection and celebration.

The program honored standout volunteers. Darlene Palmer received the Legacy of Service Award for 24 years and 2,435 hours at the Omaha Visitors Center. John Young earned Outstanding Service Hours for contributing 188 hours in 2025. Excellence in Customer Service Awards went to Chris Olson, John Thorston and Doreen Jankovich for their dedication to visitors throughout the year.

Guests enjoyed a catered spread and cocktails before exploring Kiewit Luminarium’s Night Light programming, which featured live music, immersive VR and interactive art.
