The Omaha metro area is home to nearly 70,000 teleworkers, representing 13.5 percent of the total workforce, which is close to the national average of 13.8 percent, according to report from CoworkingMag. Women make up 54 percent of Omaha’s remote workforce. Millennials and Gen Xers account for 40.4 and 38.4 percent respectively. Omaha’s remote workers tend to be college educated, and nearly half of them (47.9%) earn $75,000 or more. More than 28.2 percent of Omaha’s remote workers are in the finance, insurance and real estate sector.
