Omaha Children’s Museum announced today that it is pausing the capital campaign that would have funded a new building at 8th & Douglas Street. The museum will remain at its current location at 500 South 20th Street. Board president Dana Washington said the museum would revisit expansion plans “when the time is right.” The museum announced in October 2024 that it would build a 4-story, state-of-the-art facility on the north side of Heartland of America Park designed by internationally renowned architecture firm Snøhetta. It was scheduled to open in 2027.
