Craig Wolf of Cheer Athletics and Wolfpack Sports Foundation joins Grow Omaha to discuss the fallout from Nebraska’s sports facility funding decisions. The conversation covers the Sports Arena Facility Financing Assistance Act, the approval of a North Downtown soccer stadium and Lincoln volleyball project, the denial of several other proposals and what that means for youth sports facilities across the state. Wolf explains the proposed Gretna project on 34 acres near 200th & Highway 370, including planned cheer and basketball facilities, retail, restaurants, hotels and an event center that could have supported the broader Gretna community. He also discusses what’s next, the need for plan B and why youth sports tourism remains a major opportunity for Nebraska.
