This week’s Grow Omaha Lightning Round, sponsored by USG Construction, is packed with restaurant, retail and entertainment openings. Hawaiian Bros Island Grill has opened its Elkhorn location near 204th and Veterans Drive. McCready Market plans to open June 24 at 509 South 11th Street in the Old Market with sandwiches, soups, salads and a coffee program. There There, an all-day cafe, wine bar and market, is coming to the former Bubbly Tart space at 3020 Leavenworth Street in Midtown with European small plates, baked goods, low-intervention wines and grocery goods. O Cookie O’s has opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Lakeside Hills Plaza, while construction has started on a Panda Express in the Kensington Park development near 204th and Q. The Lightning Round also covers Hy-Vee’s planned renovation at 180th and Q, Academy Sports Bar temporarily opening in the Nova Apartments building during the College World Series, A Cut Above opening in Bel Air Plaza and Dose & Dig opening Omaha’s first indoor sandbox near 180th and Q.
