This week’s Grow Omaha News of the Week leads with Omaha ranking No. 2 among the nation’s 95 largest cities on Forbes’ 2026 list of the best and worst cities for renters. Lincoln ranks No. 1, giving Nebraska the top two spots. Jeff Beals and Trenton Magid also discuss South Omaha Recovery Grant projects, including South Omaha Global Market on the South 24th Street corridor, 29th and Jackson townhomes overlooking Interstate 480 and International Bakery’s planned move to the former Joe Tess Place. The segment closes with the City of Omaha taking ownership of Home Plate, the 25-acre north downtown property where Union Omaha plans its future professional soccer stadium, while Union Pacific will still be able to display trains near Charles Schwab Field during the College World Series.
