NuStyle Development is converting the Central Park Plaza twin towers downtown into 700 apartments, renaming the complex as “The Duo Omaha.” The $163 million project is renovating the buildings in three phases with final completion occurring in 2027. Sullivan’s Steakhouse will remain in the south tower. The old Park Fair Mall — on the west side of the complex along 16th Street — will be torn down and replaced with a city-owned parking garage. Some of the apartments (150 units) will be constructed on top of that new garage. This phot by Brad Williams shows work being done to connect the twin towers.
