Hawkins Construction Company and Patriot Crane & Rigging recently put the final glass pane in place over Eppley Airfield’s front terminal drive. The $60 million canopy is 825 feet long and covers the entire drop-off and pick-up area with large-format glass panels.
The project includes more than 2,200 tons of steel that will be wrapped with architectural aluminum cladding. There is now roughly 93,000 sq. ft. of structural glass comprising the roof.
The canopy and terminal drive project is part of more than $1 billion worth of improvements underway at Nebraska and Iowa’s busiest airport.
