Omaha experienced a 53 percent increase in renters aged 65-plus from 2013 to 2023, according to a study by Point2Homes that analyzed the 75 most populous U.S. metro areas. That’s nearly double the national average growth of 29.4 percent. Of all the metros, Omaha saw the nation’s biggest increase in seniors renting single-family homes. Nationwide, the number of renters over 65 grew by 2.4 million, more than any other age group.
