City Nerd, a 357,000-subscriber YouTube channel, ranked Omaha as the fourth most affordable city for low-income residents. Host Ray Delahanty analyzed the central cities in every metro area over 1 million and determined the housing cost burden for a person earning 25 percent of a city’s median income, while renting a property at 25 percent of a city’s median rental rate. Omaha’s 25-percentile income is $39,103, with a 25th-percentile rent of $1,147 for a housing burden of 35 percent.
