Nebraska Medicine Activates Nebraska Biocontainment Unit

Nebraska Medicine has activated the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit on the University of Nebraska Medical Center campus. It is hosting one U.S. citizen, who was a passenger on the cruise ship associated with a hantavirus outbreak. A total of 17 passengers landed in Omaha in the early hours this morning. Most of the passengers are now being assessed at the National Quarantine Unit inside UNMC’s Davis Global Center at 42^nd & Leavenworth Street.
