A groundbreaking ceremony took place last week for Kyoto Sushi & Hibachi, a Japanese steakhouse planned for 18118 Evans Street. The 1.3-acre site is southwest of 180th & West Maple Road. The 7,000 sq. ft. restaurant will occupy part of a 12,558 sq. ft. retail building expected to be complete sometime next year. Kyoto’s owners are Michael and Amy Chen, who also own Osaka Steakhouse & Sushi Bar at 12746 Westport Parkway in La Vista.
