Interstate 480 Closed for Weekend Construction Project

Interstate 480 is closed on the west side of downtown this weekend as workers install horizonal girders for the new Farnam Street bridge. The installation will require the freeway to be closed until no later than 6 a.m. Monday. The bridge is being rebuilt to accommodate the Omaha Streetcar and because of its advanced age. The bridge’s concrete deck is expected to be poured in June.
