Jordan Larson has officially announced her retirement from professional volleyball and will cap a 17-year professional and Olympic career at the conclusion of the 2026 LOVB Nebraska Volleyball season.
Larson, a Nebraska native and Husker volleyball legend, won a national title with Nebraska before moving on to help Team USA earn its first-ever gold medal in women’s volleyball at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is one of three volleyball players in history with four Olympic medals.
“I still love the game immensely,” said Larson at a press conference on Friday. “As I’ve gotten older, there’s more pieces that come with it. I’m living on house money, every day is an absolute blessing… It seems like the time to celebrate what volleyball is doing in the state and how we can continue to grow the sport.”
Prior to this season, she was announced as a member of a new ownership group of LOVB Nebraska headlined by JE Dunn Construction Group. While 2026 will mark the end of her playing career, she will remain an integral piece in fostering growth and development of volleyball at all levels in the state of Nebraska as a co-owner of LOVB Nebraska.
To honor Jordan and her belief in family, friends and love of the Nebraska volleyball community, LOVB Nebraska has introduced the Kae Community Award, named in honor of Jordan’s mom Kae.
Kae did everything she could to help Jordan achieve her goals and become one of the winningest volleyball players in history. With the award, LOVB will honor “six individuals who, like Kae, have gone above and beyond to support another’s volleyball journey, and through their actions, have made a lasting difference in the lives of others.”
