The March 26th Arts & Culture Report
The Holland Center will feature Clara Schumann & Brahms at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28. The concert starts with Unsuk Chin’s tribute to Beethoven’s 250th birthday, Subito con Forza. Pianist Zee Zee, a bright and electric performer who’s collaborated with many orchestras, makes her Omaha debut with Clara Schumann’s exquisite Piano Concerto, a masterpiece she composed before the age of 16. Brahms’ final Symphony No. 4 delivers a conclusion full of grandeur, an emotional summation of his own legacy and the composers and friends who lit his way.
There will also be a special after-hours show by Zee Zee performing a one-of-a-kind solo performance, where all are invited to attend at no additional cost. Visit their website for more information.
Omaha Children’s Museum will host an “Egg-stravagant Weekend” event March 27 through 29. Get your Easter celebration on with a fun Meet-and-Greet with the Easter Bunny, as well as other “egg-citing” activities. Tickets are only valid for the Easter Bunny Meet-and-Greet. The 2026 UNO Juried Art Student Exhibition will conclude its exhibit on March 27 with a reception and awards ceremony from 5 to 7 p.m. on the first floor of the Weber Fine Arts Building at UNO’s Dodge Campus. The UNO Art Gallery presents a selection of works by art majors and minors in studio arts, art education and art history juried by Teresa Gleason, who owns Ming Toy Gallery in the Benson area. The Omaha Symphony will be joined by Grammy Award-winning Patti LaBelle for an unforgettable performance at the Holland Performing Arts Center May 13 at 7:30 p.m. Back in Omaha since 2019, The “Godmother of Soul” will perform hits from her extensive catalogue. For more than 60 years, LaBelle’s incredible voice has left a mark on the soul and R&R industry, from her first hit as lead singer of the Bluebelles to becoming a solo artist and receiving wild acclaim all over the country. The performance will be led by Music Director Laureate Thomas Wilkins, who led the orchestra for 16 years until 2021, as well as joined by nationally renowned cellist Joshua Roman. The Florentine Players, a local nonprofit community theater group, will premiere its 61st annual melodrama “Cassidy Croft and The Lost Treasure of Jesse James OR Treasure? Hardly Knew Her,” on Thursday, April 30 at Florence City Hall.
Written and directed by Derek Kowal and Luke McGuire, the production is set in the 1980s, where a time capsule is cracked open in Florence and a mysterious clue launches a race for Jesse James’ lost loot. The show is packed with 80s nostalgia, fun and unique local flavor. There will be six performances, starting April 30 to May 2, and then May 7 to 9. Visit here for information.

The Omaha Film Festival concluded its 2026 edition on Sunday and announced the awarded winners in independent film, screenplay writing and local Nebraska storytelling across 104 films screened at Aksarben Cinema.

Omaha Performing Arts will feature Bob Dylan on March 21 at 8 p.m. at the Orpheum Theater as part of his Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour.
Noted as one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Bob Dylan is best known for pushing the boundaries of American music tradition, even being awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his contributions. He continues a tradition of poetic lyricism and defying convention in his latest worldwide tour. Dylan has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. For tickets and more information, visit here.
The Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement will host “Painting Hope: Where Art Meets Medicine” on March 22. Artist and Creighton associate professor of drawing and painting Rachel Mindrup will share powerful portraits from the exhibit Many Faces of Neurofibromatosis. It highlights the lives of people with Neurofibromatosis, aiming to raise awareness and federal funding for research. The event is part of the Voices AMPLIFIED! series, opening on March 22. Omaha Performing Arts will also present SIX at the Orpheum Theater from March 25 through 29 with various times. From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII are reimagined into a modern, high-energy pop, girl group competing to see which wife had the hardest life. The SIX: LIVE ON OPENING NIGHT Broadway album debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard cast album charts and surpassed 6 Million streams in its first month. For tickets and more information, visit here.
Omaha Symphony will perform the music of rock legends, The Who, on Saturday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hollands Performing Arts Center. Maestro Ernest Richardson will lead the orchestra, vocalists and rock musicians for a one-night-only performance. Jeans ‘n Classics will join the orchestra to perform hits from the albums My Generation, Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy, The Who Sell Out, Who’s Next, Quadrophenia, Who Are You and the rock opera Tommy. The Who was a legendary English rock band, recognized and well-known in the 1960s and 70s alongside The Beatles and The Stones. Tickets for Music of The Who start at $26. The March 12th Arts & Culture Report
The Omaha Symphony will present Ledwon Plays Shostakovich at the Joslyn on March 15 at 2 p.m. Guest conductor Paolo Bortolameolli will lead the symphony through a powerful program of Beethoven, Shostakovich and Schoenberg. This concert is a journey of passion and depth, going from the intensity of Egmont Overture to the fiery virtuosity of Cello Concerto No. 1 and the haunting beauty of Verklärte Nacht. There will also be a pre-concert art tour at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., as well as an inside about the musical program at Abbot Hall from 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
The Omaha Film Festival has begun. Here are a couple of highly anticipated films being featured this weekend:
The World Premiere of the drama feature BONDING will play Friday, March 13 at 8:05 p.m. at Aksarben Cinema. Directed by Victoria Trofimenko, her first American feature, BONDING follows three estranged siblings reuniting at a remote ranch, each one with an agenda, colliding under the influence of a powerful tech billionaire. These tensions force the siblings to face and reconcile with the past. Some of the cast and filmmakers will also attend the screening.
Andrew Troy’s Midnight in the Orange Grove will play at the Aksarben Cinema on Sunday, March 15 at 11:45 a.m. This film is an 11-time award-winning and 25-time nominated feature film co-written by Guinevere Turner, most known for American Psycho, as well as produced by Warren Anzalone and co-starring Ashton Igo, both Omaha natives. Based on a true story, the film tackles the devastating realities of domestic violence, where a young art student discovers her adoptive mother’s medical diagnosis, reflects suppressed childhood memories, therapy sessions unveil a painful truth and encounters a mysterious woman from her past.
BLUEBARN Theatre will present Primary Trust by Eboni Booth from March 26 through April 19. Directed by Kathy Tyree, it is the fourth show of BLUEBARN’s 37th season: BELONG, and recently won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Experience a story with the power of friendship and triumph over tragedy. The journey of old friends, Kenneth and Bert, as Kenneth loses his job, is forced to push past boundaries and reconcile with his past. Tickets are on sale now! Omaha Performing Arts has just announced Bluey’s Big Play, the hit theater show returning later this year at the Orpheum Theater on Dec 16 and 17. Based on the popular children’s television series, join Bluey and her family in a theatrical adaption featuring brilliantly created puppets, original music created by the show’s composer, Joff Bush, and family fun for all. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 13 at 10 a.m.
