Omaha Welcomes Forensic Nursing Professionals for Global Conference

August 18, 2025

This week, Omaha welcomes more than 750 visitors for the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) Annual Conference at CHI Health Center Omaha. These healthcare professionals play a vital role in supporting patients impacted by trauma and violence.

From August 18 to 21, attendees will gather downtown to attend workshops, connect with peers and explore Omaha. The conference draws 95 percent of its participants from outside the metro.

Forensic nurses are uniquely trained to care for patients affected by violence and trauma, and IAFN leads the way in setting care standards, advancing global policy and promoting evidence-based practices.

Attendees will have free time to enjoy Omaha’s culinary and cultural scenes. Pre- and post-conference workshops will take place at the Global Davis Center on the University of Nebraska Medical Center campus.

With strong visitor numbers and measurable local impact, events like this reinforce Omaha’s position as a top meetings and events destination.
