For an 11th straight month, Creighton University’s overall Rural Mainstreet Index sank below growth neutral, according to the July survey of bank CEOs in rural areas of a 10-state region dependent on agriculture and/or energy. The region’s overall reading for July sank to 41.3, its lowest reading since November 2023, and down from 41.7 in June.
