RentCafe expects another robust year of apartment construction with more than 500,000 new units anticipated to open nationwide by year’s end. Over the past 10 years, apartment openings averaged 439,000 per year, with a crest of 640,000 openings in 2024. RentCafe also tracked year-over-year increases in apartment openings. Notably, Omaha has the 7th highest year-over-year increase in openings expected in 2025 compared to 2024. Omaha’s expected 3,335 new openings in 2025 is 79% more than openings in 2024. – Isaiah Ang
