The City of Omaha is selling a small recreational building at 3802 North 24th Street on the northwest corner of 24th & Manderson Street. The 576 sq. ft. building would be renovated for co-officing space for three organizations that promote and maintain urban farms and seek to address food insecurity: Black Chick Farm, Omaha Sunflower Cooperative and Healing Roots African Diaspora Healing Roots Garden. Planning documents indicate that the organizations will also provide urban farm training, process seeds and hold neighborhood farmers’ markets. – Isaiah Ang
